Today was a day of highs for Pink Floyd, and lows for prominent members of the music community throughout the years. On the lighter side, Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon achieved gold status this day in 1973 and their 1994 record The Division Bell went to number one in their native UK.
On a more solemn note, it was also this day in 1998 that Paul McCartney's wife and bandmate Linda passed away, and also the day that former Bob Marley and The Wailers drummer Carlton Barrett was shot and killed outside of his home in Kingston, Jamaica.
