EAGLES UPDATE: There Will Be a Game 4 in the First Round

The final score Friday night was 3-2. The Eagles and Condors (the "Battle of the Birds") in game one of the Calder Cup playoffs went back and forth with Bakersfield getting the last goal for the win. It was a loss for the Eagles, but there was something about that game that didn't feel so much like a win for the Condors and not so much like a loss for the Eagles. In the eyes of the Eagles players, coaches, and fans, the momentum seemed to be on the Eagles side going into game two at the Budweiser Events Center Saturday night.

The Eagles didn't take much time in game two to prove that theory correct. At the 2:22 mark of the first period, Julien Nantel got the Eagles on the board first with his first post-season goal. Andrew Agozzino cared not that the Eagles were short-handed when he slapped one in at the 9:30 mark of the second period. Agozinno added another in the third on an Eagles power play with a beautiful shot from the left circle making it 3-1 Eagles. As the game was winding down, Bakersfield pulled their goalie for an extra attacker. Agozinno got the turnover at center ice and buried a shot for his hat trick and a 4-1 Eagles win.

With the way the Eagles played against Bakersfield Friday night in the loss and how they played Saturday with the win, there's little doubt where the momentum is now in this series, even with it now moving to Bakersfield these next three games. The Eagles have shown they're not intimidated and can skate with them at home or on the road. Here's what's left of round one:
