I know this is not one of my usual lighthearted topics, but I'm (potentially) pissed. A friend of mine struggles with depression and recently had a suicide attempt. Now NO ONE will hire him. It's like it's somehow been put into his records and is being seen on background checks. WTF?? I thought mental illness was covered by medical privacy policies! So is it a CRIME??? Is it coming up in criminal background checks?? If so, I'm about to throw a fit. What are your thoughts?? Do you have any helpful info for me?
