Last summer,  Aerosmith announced their "heartbreaking" decision to retire from touring after singer Steven Tyler sustained a vocal injury that he continues to struggle with. But are they really done for good?

Bassist Tom Hamilton spoke about the band's future, and gave an update on Tyler's recovery, in a new interview. “Steven’s healing process is going really, really well, but it goes at its own pace,” he said before discussing what the future could hold.

"Maybe Aerosmith will do something in the future, but it’s a big if and the last thing I want to be doing is to try and push Steven in that direction," he clarified. “If we do anything in the future, it would come from him.”

Hamilton also addressed Aerosmith's future in an interview just weeks after the retirement announcement was made. "We don’t know what the future holds but it won’t include touring,” he said at the time.

Hamilton was then asked if Aerosmith's considered touring with a new vocalist, which he quickly shot down. “There’s been no talk at all about going on the road with another singer. I can’t imagine it,” he said. “I’m sure all of us have music in our future and it will manifest itself in ways that we haven’t planned yet."
