Denver came into the Western Conference Semifinals as a heavy underdog taking on the Los Angeles Clippers, who a lot of experts and analysts expected to win it all. After being down 3-1, the Nuggets fought back to win two-in-a-row, which tied the series up 3-3. Just like the previous series the Nuggets had against the Utah Jazz, it all came down to game 7.
This is when Denver's two superstars, Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray, needed to be the best players on the court in order to give their team a chance to win, and that is exactly what they did. Jamal made 15 out of 26 shots taken to end up with a scoring total of 40 points. Jokic ended the night with a triple double: scoring 16 points, coming down with 22 rebounds, and getting 13 assists. The incredible effort from these two, along with the rest of the team, helped the Nuggets defeat the LA Clippers with a final score of 104 to 89. The Denver Nuggets have now become the only team in the history of the NBA to win back-to-back playoff series in which they were down 3 games to 1.
The Nuggets will now meet LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers in the Western Conference Finals.
