Anthrax To Unveil 'Stop Spreading The Disease' Hand Sanitizer

Anthrax is doing its part to make the world safe enough for live music to eventually return by unveiling its own brand of hand sanitizer.

Drummer Charlie Benante teased the creative new merch idea Monday night, inspired by the title of the legendary thrash metal band's second full-length album, Spreading the Disease.

The 'Stop Spreading the Disease' hand sanitizer will be available "soon," according to Benante.

The drummer shared a selfie via Instagram, depicting himself holding a bottle of the germ-killing gel, which is branded with the band logo and that 1985 album's artwork.

A number of musical artists have released COVID pandemic-inspired merchandise, like masks, over the past six months. Few, like Anthrax, have been able to so closely tie the merch to a moment from their career.

In July, Peter Frampton unveiled a new pandemic play off of his iconic 1976 album Frampton Comes Alive. The guitar hero began selling 'Frampton Stays Inside!' T-shirts from his 'Shelter In Place House Tour 2020,' with a portion of the proceeds going to Second Harvest Food Bank.
